Day Off Walks: Arab Street
Weekends in Singapore for Filipinos are mostly spent doing the usual: laundry, housekeeping, fulfilling religious obligations and Skype chats with family and friends in the Philippines if they are not living with you. If you want to break away from your weekend schedule though, a walk around Singapore’s interesting districts is in order.
Singapore is a pedestrian-friendly country. One can easily explore the downtown area on foot and go from one area to another without complications. I have always been known to have a notoriously bad sense of direction but I find the city center friendly for people like me who are eternally dependent on their maps.
In an effort to break the monotony of Sundays, a friend and I decided to go on a walk around the city and soon enough, we were exploring the colorful Kampong Glam district.
